HOW I STARTED OFF IN THIS MUSIC BUSSINESS
A SHORT STORY ABOUT MY JOURNEY
I started out 46 years ago when I was just 8 years old from my hometown of Acton West London. There is where I used to challenge my neighbour to see who had the best sound and the best music; we used to do this by placing our speakers on the window seal of our homes. My neighbour used to play his sound first then I used to have to counteract it by playing my best at its loudest, back in them days you got away with it.
I then started to build my own sound I did this by getting a paper round and saving up my own money. It was at this point I was then able to purchase my first amplifier and built up slowly from there.
I originally started off as a Mic M.C. where I then started going to a lot of dances around west London holding the mic for a lot DJ’s back then I was known as Puppa Dee.
I had my first competition in Acton at the priory centre a DJ’s competition, where I won the mic M.C. for that day.
I then decided to change my name as many people thought I was very good so wanted a name that had a bit more of a punch on it. I decided as my favourite artist at that time was Brigadier Jerry and also, I was in the army (TA) I decided to call myself Briggy and then my name progressed into Dee.
From then you could find me in many dances around west London holding the mic and playing music. I joined a sound called Good Times Road Show who Norman Jay has been knighted by the queen, you could find us at carnivals or any other place that they played.
From there I built my own sound and decided to call it Euphonic’s sound as it was pleasing to the ear.
I then decided to take one step further and built my own radio station, which as you can see is still on going.
We play all types of music soul, reggae dancehall, soca, R&B, dubstep, gospel.
